After earning her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, Naveed has been working with graduate students, young working professionals, and high school students in Washington D.C. She has supported clients through grueling life transitions, difficult relationships, career challenges, and anxiety and mood disorders (such as Generalized Anxiety, Depression, and Bipolar).
Her interest in building access to quality mental health services started way before she started working at counseling practices. After she earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Economics at Smith College, Naveed went on to work with women and adolescents at a domestic violence organization in Washington DC.
Her international projects have included developing and facilitating workshops for healthcare workers on issues like workplace harassment and gender-based violence. At Johns Hopkins University, she earned her MPH which strengthened her skills to identify the social factors that interact with behavior to influence health, illness, and recovery.
Naveed is an active member of several counseling associations. In 2018, she was invited to present her research at the International Association of Counseling Conference (IACC). Her research and academic training lend a strong focus on cross-cultural counseling.
Naveed has lived in the DC Metro Area for 25 years. What was once a city with an unfamiliar and frenetic energy has now become a cherished home. In her free time, she reads with her son, plays field hockey with her daughter, and hikes with her partner.
